As long as I can remember, Foodtown in Red Bank has always been a part of my life. 🛒💙

Growing up, my family would stop there to grab dinner after long summer days at the beach 🌊☀️.

In second grade, my Grandmother entered a photo of me dressed as a robot in their Halloween contest and I won the grand prize of a brand-new toy chest! 🤖 🎉 But my favorite memories come from spending time with my great-uncle, Alphonso J. Tomaino. If you knew him, seen his documentary “Apartment 38” or watched the web series “Alphonso On…”, then you know how much he loved his daily visits to Foodtown. It was more than just a grocery store to him. It was a place filled with conversations, friendships, stories, and community. ❤️📰🛍️🤝

With Foodtown in Red Bank officially closing its doors yesterday (5/23/26), I knew I had to make one last visit. Walking those aisles again brought back so many stories Alphonso shared with me over the years about the store’s history, the people, the bargains, and the memories that made it special.

To celebrate, I’m proud to share with you a new mini-documentary about Foodtown in Red Bank through the eyes of its number one customer, Alphonso J. Tomaino. I hope you enjoy “Aisle of Memories.” 🎥✨

FINAL OPINIONS: ALPHONSO ON RETURNS WITH A THIRD AND FINAL SEASON (8/1/25) (ARCHIVE)

After a recent discovery in the Green Couch Media archives, Alphonso J. Tomaino returns with one more season of his opinions! This THIRD AND FINAL SEASON of “Alphonso On” showcases never before seen footage of Alphonso taken during the filming of Seasons 1 & 2 in 2013 and 2014. For the first time, you’ll hear Alphonso chat about his memories of Foodtown, share his dissatisfaction with bingo and recall the time he got stuck in an elevator.

Beginning NOW (8/1/25), new episodes will premiere EVERY OTHER FRIDAY on Green Couch Media’s website and YOUTUBE CHANNEL.

THE LATE HOUR WITH BENSON BRIDGES: WORLD PREMIERE (7/30/25) (ARCHIVE)

Our writing and acting collaboration with New Wave Films, The Late Hour With Benson Bridges, will have its’ WORLD PREMIERE on SATURDAY, AUGUST 16th at THE BLACK CAT CULTURAL CENTER in Albuquerque, New Mexico beginning at 6PM!

Directed by John FreelyKirk, the short horror/thriller film follows author Jack Quentin and his dark secret being exposed on a late night talk show. The film stars Tevin Brown, Ronald J. Tomaino, Jr., J Diego Gonçalves and Mya Lynn Twyeffort.

The WORLD PREMIERE of The Late Hour With Benson Bridges also ties into New Wave Films’ LOCAL SHORT FILM SHOWCASE, which will feature 11 NEW MEXICO SHORT FILMS judged by Green Couch Media’s Ronald J. Tomaino, Jr. and Jeanette Ferri. Below are the finalists that are a part of this showcase:

“Alphonso Tomaino grew up on Shrewsbury Avenue with the family liquor store attached to the home. He toured the US as violin player for the "Red Band Hillbillies" quartet. When he was nearing 100 years old his film maker grand nephew realized he had to get these stories on film.”
